Actually your other game synthetic..... ian the biot, actually crashed too, but I think that was my fault. It crashed after I hit the go to other apps button. I have meat hooks for fingers alot. With the biot vn I was about 2 hours in and forgot to save... I really like it though, another one I will be buying when I can. Ty for making them.

I was hoping for an expanded cg scene, when main character first meets the symbiant and it shoves its tentacles down his pants, where you could choose to let the symbiant keep going, and it progresses to it unzip his pants and taking them off. Then you can see the symbiants tentacles sucking him off. Also I can imagine the symbiant having mini tentacles inside his tentacles, and it would have been hot to see them explore the main characters peehole.

Hi Jaunathan, this is a common issue if your graphic card drivers are out of date or if you're using an old computer.
You can try the following method:
hold the SHIFT key while clicking the game launch button
a grey screen will appear instead of the game, that's normal
select "Force GL2 Renderer", then "Quit"
Restart the game.
If the issue persists, go to that grey menu again and select "Force ANGLE2" Renderer" instead

Hello! The After Stories aren't out yet, so if you paid $28 or more, you get the game and a pre-order of the After Stories. We're planning on releasing them on Feb 2024 at the latest date but hopefully sooner than that.

This is very upsetting because Russian is the first language The Symbiant was translated to and we know many SMB fans are from Russia.
But aside from asking them what happened, there is nothing we can actually do on our own to reverse the ban beside asking nicely. Perhaps they will answer faster if a lot of people ask them directly (through forums? creating a ticket? an email? I don't know) but we don't want to get other BL game developers and Russian fans in trouble either.
My Time at Portia's case is quite different, and they don't seem to speak English, so I'm not sure they will be able to help us. Thanks for the info bit though!
So, about that.. we have received a confirmation from Valve that they have been contacted by Roskomnadzor demanding that they permanently remove the app from the region. Which means that Russia officially banned the game. :(

We asked Steam staff about it last week and we haven't gotten any proper answer from them. All we know right now is that Valve is the one who banned the game from Russia, not the Russian authorities. We asked them on un-ban the game, but we can't guarantee anything. :(

Hi, just wanted to let you know that GOG has a broken download link to Symbiant adult patch and they have been unwilling to fix it for about two weeks now. So if someone buys the game over there and wants the patch they won't be able to get it.

OK ,now that I finished the game a full review: I still LOVE LOVE the game, I believe Brahve is one of the most beautiful characters ever drawn(in all media), I like Juni and the fact that you made her an interesting character and not just a token best friend, and of course our MC is just an adorable muffin. Two SERIOUS OBJECTIONS though: one, the game is short! Understandable, since we have one love interest, but still I cannot forgive you ,unless...we have a sequel! So if you sirs and ladies who developed the game are reading this, pretty please after the After Stories make a sequel! I am not ready to say goodbye to my babies yet. And the second objection: please when you describe a lovey dovey smexy scene illustrate it also! There were some scenes only described and not shown (eg in the gym, or in the shower), and we simply need to see the same beautiful visuals like the rest of the game! That is all, great job guys and I will see you in the after stories!

apparently in the malaysian steam store, the bundle only contains the game, the ost, and the guide, but not the artbook [it shows up as a separate dlc, its just that it's not in the bundle]. mind looking into this?
We previously made a bundle that contained the artbook and CG pack as well as another bundle where you could purchase The Symbiant and Y Press Games' Dear Monster together. However, as we discovered, the bundle made The Symbiant completely un-buyable for German and Chinese players.
The only way to make The Symbiant available for purchase on Germany and China was to remove The Symbiant from any bundle with adult content inside it in order to keep the base game 100% "kid-friendly".
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can still purchase the artbook separately (on Steam) if you still want it.
Hi! Unfortunately, Steam does not let me buy the sfw version of the game there. I am located in Germany, unfortunately, so I cannot access the adult patch in the Steam store, but I should theoretically be able to buy the sfw version from them as only adult content gets blocked in my country, i.e. the optional patch. However, I am unable to access the store page of the sfw version on Steam.
Is there any way to buy the sfw version on Steam and get the adult patch from here (as mentioned by you further down in the comment section)? I was able to buy the sfw version of Synthetic Lover on Steam and install the adult patch from itch.io without issue.

The FREE Adult Patch has been uploaded to our itch.io page. Unfortunately, it appears that the game has been banned in Germany on Steam. We don't know if its permanent or not (we will try resolve it), but it looks like the only way people can purchase the game at the moment is itch.io or GOG

It would really suck if the sfw version were banned in Germany, there's no reason for it I can think of and unlike other banned games I can access the sales page and view the price, but not proceed to check-out. This has never happened before. Also, the sfw version of Synthetic Lover is still available on Steam and I can put it in my shopping basket and proceed to check-out with my cart showing the correct price (not 0.00 € like it does for The Symbiant). It would be awesome if you could try to get to the bottom of this.
It's just endlessly frustrating to be a fan of visual novels living in Germany in this day and age. :( I am so grateful you sell your games through itch.io as well.
Could it be related to the bundle sale somehow? The store page tells me the base game is 17.99 € (if the game were truly banned here, I would not even be able to access the store page). However, the bundle deal on the same store page says that 2 components of the bundle (the main game and the patch) are blocked and I can only see the soundtrack and the guide, both of which I can add to my shopping cart and proceed to check-out just fine. Perhaps it's the inclusion of the blocked patch in the bundle that somehow prevents people in Germany from buying just the sfw base game? Just an idea. Again, I appreciate your help. :)

dunno if you ever figured this out but the adult content is included in the download from this page. the patch is *for* the steam version.

apparently in the malaysian steam store, the bundle only contains the game, the ost, and the guide, but not the artbook [it shows up as a separate dlc, its just that it's not in the bundle]. mind looking into this?

We previously made a bundle that contained the artbook and CG pack as well as another bundle where you could purchase The Symbiant and Y Press Games' Dear Monster together. However, as we discovered, the bundle made The Symbiant completely un-buyable for German and Chinese players.
The only way to make The Symbiant available for purchase on Germany and China was to remove The Symbiant from any bundle with adult content inside it in order to keep the base game 100% "kid-friendly".
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can still purchase the artbook separately (on Steam) if you still want it.
I bought this game in steam and installed a patch, but it seems that it is only displayed in CG, but the plot is still deleted. Is this normal？

When you go to the root folder of the game you will see a folder inside. It's called "game". Put the patch file in there.

Hi! Unfortunately, Steam does not let me buy the sfw version of the game there. I am located in Germany, unfortunately, so I cannot access the adult patch in the Steam store, but I should theoretically be able to buy the sfw version from them as only adult content gets blocked in my country, i.e. the optional patch. However, I am unable to access the store page of the sfw version on Steam.
Is there any way to buy the sfw version on Steam and get the adult patch from here (as mentioned by you further down in the comment section)? I was able to buy the sfw version of Synthetic Lover on Steam and install the adult patch from itch.io without issue.
Would I be able to activate the Steam key that comes with a purchase of the game on itch.io?

But there still seems to be an issue with the sfw Steam version, I was now able to access the store page and I can see the price of the game, but when I try to put it in my basket it says 0.00 € and does not let me complete check-out. Others have the same issue, there's a thread on Steam. Do you have any idea how to resolve this?
The FREE Adult Patch has been uploaded to our itch.io page. Unfortunately, it appears that the game has been banned in Germany on Steam. We don't know if its permanent or not (we will try resolve it), but it looks like the only way people can purchase the game at the moment is itch.io or GOG

It would really suck if the sfw version were banned in Germany, there's no reason for it I can think of and unlike other banned games I can access the sales page and view the price, but not proceed to check-out. This has never happened before. Also, the sfw version of Synthetic Lover is still available on Steam and I can put it in my shopping basket and proceed to check-out with my cart showing the correct price (not 0.00 € like it does for The Symbiant). It would be awesome if you could try to get to the bottom of this.
It's just endlessly frustrating to be a fan of visual novels living in Germany in this day and age. :( I am so grateful you sell your games through itch.io as well.
Could it be related to the bundle sale somehow? The store page tells me the base game is 17.99 € (if the game were truly banned here, I would not even be able to access the store page). However, the bundle deal on the same store page says that 2 components of the bundle (the main game and the patch) are blocked and I can only see the soundtrack and the guide, both of which I can add to my shopping cart and proceed to check-out just fine. Perhaps it's the inclusion of the blocked patch in the bundle that somehow prevents people in Germany from buying just the sfw base game? Just an idea. Again, I appreciate your help. :)
