HEY. I just wanna say thank you all for your endeavour and kindness. I bought this game on Steam. But unfortunately, I was in Mainland China and was inaccessible to the adult patch. OK ,now that I finished the game a full review: I still LOVE LOVE the game, I believe Brahve is one of the most beautiful characters ever drawn(in all media), I like Juni and the fact that you made her an interesting character and not just a token best friend, and of course our MC is just an adorable muffin. Two SERIOUS OBJECTIONS though: one, the game is short! Understandable, since we have one love interest, but still I cannot forgive you ,unless...we have a sequel! So if you sirs and ladies who developed the game are reading this, pretty please after the After Stories make a sequel! I am not ready to say goodbye to my babies yet. And the second objection: please when you describe a lovey dovey smexy scene illustrate it also! There were some scenes only described and not shown (eg in the gym, or in the shower), and we simply need to see the same beautiful visuals like the rest of the game! That is all, great job guys and I will see you in the after stories!

apparently in the malaysian steam store, the bundle only contains the game, the ost, and the guide, but not the artbook [it shows up as a separate dlc, its just that it's not in the bundle]. mind looking into this?

We previously made a bundle that contained the artbook and CG pack as well as another bundle where you could purchase The Symbiant and Y Press Games' Dear Monster together. However, as we discovered, the bundle made The Symbiant completely un-buyable for German and Chinese players.
The only way to make The Symbiant available for purchase on Germany and China was to remove The Symbiant from any bundle with adult content inside it in order to keep the base game 100% "kid-friendly".
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can still purchase the artbook separately (on Steam) if you still want it.
I bought this game in steam and installed a patch, but it seems that it is only displayed in CG, but the plot is still deleted. Is this normal？

When you go to the root folder of the game you will see a folder inside. It's called "game". Put the patch file in there.

Hi! Unfortunately, Steam does not let me buy the sfw version of the game there. I am located in Germany, unfortunately, so I cannot access the adult patch in the Steam store, but I should theoretically be able to buy the sfw version from them as only adult content gets blocked in my country, i.e. the optional patch. However, I am unable to access the store page of the sfw version on Steam.
Is there any way to buy the sfw version on Steam and get the adult patch from here (as mentioned by you further down in the comment section)? I was able to buy the sfw version of Synthetic Lover on Steam and install the adult patch from itch.io without issue.
Would I be able to activate the Steam key that comes with a purchase of the game on itch.io?

The FREE Adult Patch has been uploaded to our itch.io page. Unfortunately, it appears that the game has been banned in Germany on Steam. We don't know if its permanent or not (we will try resolve it), but it looks like the only way people can purchase the game at the moment is itch.io or GOG

It would really suck if the sfw version were banned in Germany, there's no reason for it I can think of and unlike other banned games I can access the sales page and view the price, but not proceed to check-out. This has never happened before. Also, the sfw version of Synthetic Lover is still available on Steam and I can put it in my shopping basket and proceed to check-out with my cart showing the correct price (not 0.00 € like it does for The Symbiant). It would be awesome if you could try to get to the bottom of this.
It's just endlessly frustrating to be a fan of visual novels living in Germany in this day and age. :( I am so grateful you sell your games through itch.io as well.
Could it be related to the bundle sale somehow? The store page tells me the base game is 17.99 € (if the game were truly banned here, I would not even be able to access the store page). However, the bundle deal on the same store page says that 2 components of the bundle (the main game and the patch) are blocked and I can only see the soundtrack and the guide, both of which I can add to my shopping cart and proceed to check-out just fine. Perhaps it's the inclusion of the blocked patch in the bundle that somehow prevents people in Germany from buying just the sfw base game? Just an idea. Again, I appreciate your help. :)

Salut ! On est actuellement très occupés pour la version Steam et itchio mais on compte effectivement rendre le reste du contenu disponible sur Google Play.
Cela dit, tu peux tout à fait acheter la version Android ici, qui aura le bonus de ne pas être censurée (pas le droit de montrer des fesses sur Google Play lol). Dans notre page SFW tu pourras prendre la version tout public si tu préfère.

As we originally planned, the early access will be effective on January 19 or January 26, depending on which tier you backed. If you are a patron or bought The Symbiant Beta, you can download the usual files on itch instead.
I am so excited for the full release to come out. I paid the 20 for the game...a while ago....and I just noticed the thing about the DLC's....I did see on your game description that there may be a way to get them in the future without having to buy everything again. I cannot sadly budget to buy the whole game twice. I am however so excited to play the full release. The demo I played was a very early one and I have not played any more as I wanna enjoy my first blind run of the game!

oh my gosh, yeah, I also like Bhrave. the moment I see that ain't look like plant but alien species you can see in movies xD The backgrounds are so stunning! I love the CG's it was well drawn and that full voice lines are mwah!

The Symbiant's tunes were made by BrightBone and aren't released on places like Spotify or Youtube yet, so you won't find them in a playlist. The OST will be available when the game is released (on February) and BrightBone will make it available through various platform though!

- The full game is set at $20 and will be downloadable on February after it is released
- The beta is at $105, is immediately downloadable after purchase and currently allows you to play 90% of the full game
- The beta is updated at least 2x a month with new content. It will later include DLC content as well and will keep being updated until ~Autumn 2023.

You can activate NSFW content in the Options menu! We're planning updating the web version with a build that enables it by default.

I don't understand how to add the NSFW CGs to the game. All I get are SFW cut-aways where NSFW scenes would be.

What version number are you playing? You can see which version at the bottom right of the title screen.
It's possible that adult content is disabled in the Options/Preferences menu.
Version N-0.3.6 In the options, I have Dialogue Box Transparency, Volume, Text Options, Skip Mode, and Voice Action. There isn't any option to turn adult content on or off.

Hello - Just jumped in from looking at your offering on Steam. Since I know they offer non-PC versions of other games and I see you offer them here (ITCH), why is the only version that came up on Steam was the one for Windows?

Thanks for your interest in the game! To answer your Mac question, uploading a Mac version on Steam would require a number of time and money-consuming steps such as:
Mac sales on itch account for anywhere between 1-2% of sales. As such, we can't justify investing that much manpower for such a small userbase on Steam, where at any given moment, Apple may release an update that will completely break the game on Mac. The more time pass, the less the $100/year will make sense for us, and the more likely someone is to run into that an OS update-related issue.
We can, however, offer the game on itchio where we could provide assistance for the odd Mac user who might contact us once in a blue moon for help as opposed to dozens of troubled Steam users --that we can afford.
Here's what we can offer: if you buy the game on Steam when it comes out, email us at smb.vnproject@gmail.com with a copy of the Steam email receipt of The Symbiant and we will send you an itchio key.

I suppose the numbers might even be worse re the Linux version, so no surprise it's not there either. I am sorry the numbers aren't better, as I say, the more support for your efforts the better. Yeah, Linux users amount for even less than Mac users, although the both of them amount for 60% of tech support-related issues according to what we've read--that's not an issue with the players themselves, but rather how Apple isn't very developer and player-friendly (and there is only so much the peeps who make the Ren'py engine can do to fix issues related to Mac OSX update.)
If you run into any issue with our game builds on Mac, don't hesitate to tell us --we'll do our best to fix it!
